You’ll stay at Camping La Savane, a spacious, picturesque camp, close to the pretty French town of Ruoms. Set between two rivers in the Ardèche area of south-eastern France, it makes the perfect base for organised activities among forests, caves and crags, and some of Europe’s most beautiful natural scenery. A large swimming pool, games areas, café-bar, and an extensive range of on-site facilities keep everyone occupied when back at the camp – and you’ll have your own private tented village with pre-erected tents (containing proper beds), as well as your own marquee and dining area.

For many of the groups who’ve enjoyed this adventure over the decades, the highlight is a two-day kayaking trip on the Ardèche River, famous for its dramatic limestone gorge. You’ll spend the night sleeping under the stars at a purpose-built bivvy site; this journey is definitely about experiencing the great outdoors.

And the rest of the five-night adventure is equally exciting, with high ropes in the trees, climbing, and local excursions. All activities are organised and provided by qualified instructors, and all included, are available from May to August.
