Job Summary
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for customer service and operational excellence? We're seeking a motivated and experienced Centre Manager to oversee our seasonal operation in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, fostering a welcoming environment, and leading the team to deliver amazing experiences to young people.

The centre will open for guests in May and operate through to the start of the school summer holidays.

Requirements:
· Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in an Outdoor Centre environment
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Village Manager, West Midlands


Responsible to: Head of Centre
Line manager to: Chief Instructor & Activity Instructors 
Hours: Full time
Location: West Midlands
£13.50per hour

Job Summary
As the Village Manager the main responsibility is to ensure that all guests have a smooth and successful trip or holiday. The Village Manager assists the Head of Centre to manage the day to day running of the centre, they will oversee the Villages, delivers exceptional customer service to all the guests, and monitors the Village to ensure it is presentable at all times and operating at the required Acorn standard. This will include playing a lead role in the ordering, preparation, and delivery of 3 meals a day for up to 100 people. 
The Village Manager will deputise the Head of Centre when they are not on centre. 

Responsibilities:
Play a lead role in the ordering, preparation, and delivery of 3 meals a day for up to 100 people. 
To manage the Villages in accordance with Acorn Adventure’s Safety Management System.
To manage the Village Team.
To be the main contact point for the guests on the Village;
To ensure that guests receive first-class customer service;
To be a role model to guests and promote the Acorn experience;
To organise group arrivals and departures;
To organise the day-to-day running of the Village;
To carry out pre-visit phone calls to groups;
To ensure groups are completing the Immediate Feedback Forms & carry out Departure Talks;
To complete the Village checklist;
To return all reports to Head Office as required;
To assist on activities as required;
To ensure the prompt delivery of meals to the guests;
To ensure the delivery of a first class evening activities programme;
To deal with any problems or issues the guests may have in a prompt and efficient manner;
To complete legal food temperature records and equipment records;
To oversee and maintain hygiene standards in the Village;
To liaise with the Chief Instructor in arranging evening activities & rotas;
To promote the Acorn Shop and Acorn merchandise to our clients (if required);
To carry out night duty on a rota basis;
To play a lead role in the montage and demontage of the Centre;
To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Centre.

Activity Instructor, West Midlands


Responsible to: Village Manager / Chief Instructor 
Location: West Midlands
£12.50 per hour

Job Summary
Activity Instructors deliver safe and enjoyable activity sessions and an evening entertainment programme to the guests. Activity Instructors play a key role in ensuring all guests have a fun experience. 


Responsibilities:
Deliver sessions which are safe, structured and enjoyable and adhere to Operating Procedures;
Adhere to Acorn’s Customer Care & Safety Management Systems;
Assist in the preparation and cooking of camp style food (breakfast, lunch & dinner) 
Be a positive role model to our guests and promote the Acorn experience & philosophy;
Fulfil the role with an appropriate level of maturity;
Play an active role in arrivals / departures;
Undertake other roles on Centre as required, i.e. serving food, cleaning and maintenance;
Take responsibility for safety on sessions and lead sessions if qualified to do so;
Eat in the villages and assist with the delivery of meals to our guests;
Instructor fun and safe evening activities;
Supervise the guests throughout their stay to ensure their safety at all times;
Inspect and maintain activity equipment and report breakages/faulty equipment;
Complete Centre report forms in line with the job role;
Take part in staff meetings and de-briefs as required;
Undertake any training as necessary;
Carry out night duty on a rota basis;
Play an active role in the montage and de-montage of the centre if required;
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Senior Staff;


Requirements:
Experience working in outdoor adventure with young people between 7-17 yrs old;
Customer service focused;
Ability to work as part of a team and independently;
Hardworking, flexible & motivated.
