Current Openings:
Activity Manager / Head of River, Ardeche

Camping La Savane is located on the banks of the Ardèche river, we accommodate British school groups, scouts and family groups for a five-night stay. On the camp, we provide tented accommodation, meals, entertainment, on-site activites and organise external activities which includes the 2-day kayak descent of the Ardeche.

We are looking for an Activity Manager to take on responsibility for the efficient running of the 2 day kayak descent of the Ardeche and support the training and running of the on-site activities including the climbing/highropes tower, orienteering, team building, nightline and tag-archery. You will also be responsible for the weekly planning and programming the team of 14 staff (activity leaders) on activities and site work.

We employ local instructors to lead the Ardèche descent, with our activity leaders accompanying the group to provide logistical support (organising equipment, food and overnight camp, games and evening ents) you will train and oversee the activity leaders accompanying groups down the Ardèche river, assist and monitor the descents to ensure consistency and maintain high standards.

Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Implement and supervise programs for groups.
• Manage the logistics and planning of the activity staff
• Ensure relations with external service providers and instructors
• Welcoming customers and doing the best to meet (or exceed) their expectations
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Be a vector of good humor, enthusiasm and motivation
• Maintain the equipment made available to the teams, and manage stocks
• Lead activities on-site

Skills and attributes

  • Organised, energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic and sociable.
  • You have experience working in a similar job managing a team of staff.
  • You have outdoor activity qualifications (or equivalent experience) such as canoeing instructor, lifeguard and first aid qualifications.
  • You have a sense of customer service


Normal working week is 35-40 hours.

2100€ brut (35 hour working week) or 2410€ brut (39 hour working week)

Please note: if you do not hold a European passport / have the right to work in Europe then the position is dependent on us securing a work permit, you will then be responsible for applying for a working visa for France
