Parson House Outdoor Adventure Centre is perfectly situated in the Peak District National Park, surrounded by stunning moorland. The centre takes full advantage of the park's natural beauty and diverse terrain, making it an ideal spot for outdoor adventures.

With easy access to various natural features like hills, forests, and waterways, the stay delivers amazing activities such as caving in some of the country's best caves, canoeing down the Chesterfield Canal, and bouldering, weaselling, and rock scrambling on the moors behind the centre.

This small and friendly centre accommodates schools of up to 30, providing each school with exclusive use and creating a home-like environment. Having the centre to yourself allows for a bespoke itinerary and small activity groups of just 10, ensuring students get the most out of their adventure.

Most groups travel to Parson House, using their own trusted coach provider. Our prices therefore exclude transport but a quote can be provided on request.

Parson House Centre is situated 3 miles from the nearest village, surrounded by moorland and it offers groups of up to 30 exclusive use & a home from home environment. 

Accommodation summary: 

Downstairs - there are 2 bedrooms, each for 6 people in bunk beds, and each room has it's own toilets/showers next door. There is also a drying room, dining room and kitchen, and a large games room with table tennis, table football, darts and board games. 
Upstairs – there is 1 bedroom for 6 people, 1 for 8 people and all bunk beds, again each room has its own showers/ toilets next door.  
Along the corridor are 2 staff rooms, 2 single beds in each one, a toilet next door and then a large tv lounge with tuck shop. 
Teachers have a separate annex , where you can relax, make a brew and this area has a shower, toilet and wash facilities.  The annexe is next to the main centre.

During your stay, you will enjoy homemade food prepared, cooked and served daily.  Breakfast is cereal, toast and then a pre-ordered bacon, sausage or egg sandwich to start the day.  Lunch is a packed lunch, consisting of - assorted sandwiches, crisps, fruit, biscuit and a bottle of water each.  Evening meals – Ahead of your visit, you’ll receive a choice of menus (2 course) for you to prebook, for the group with desserts. The centre’s cooks make each dessert from fresh, providing good home cooking.  All dietary requirements are catered for.  Everyone has to have the same evening meal choice, e.g. pasta Bolognese (meat) veg pasta Bolognese for vegetarians etc…
